What is included in a course price?

You’re provided with a high-quality accommodation and wonderful opportunities to explore genuine Russian culture in all of our courses. When painting en plein air, we serve breakfasts and have a Welcome and Farewell dinners with wine and Medovukha. Prices include the use of chairs and boards  as well as transfer between Moscow airports and a hotel on arrival and departure days.

How much money should I take along with me?

You will need extra money for unorganized meals (lunches and dinners), drinks and other purchases you plan to make.


Do you have lunches organized?

Between painting classes, we organize light lunches at good prices, offering local cuisine for those who wish to join. You should only tell us whether you want to join the same morning.


I have special dietary needs. Is that a problem?

No, you should simply mention your dietary restrictions in your booking form and we’ll organize a special menu for you in the hotel.


Can I stay in if I prefer not to go on an excursion?

Of course, you can stay at a hotel or go about your personal business if you prefer, just let your workshop manager know.


What is NOT included in a course price?

Lunches, a few dinners (read our brochure for more information), flights from home to the holiday destination, travel, cancellation, personal / health (required) or travel insurance and personal art materials are not included in the course price.


Are the painting locations safe?

We only attend safe locations but in bigger towns we recommend you to take only your art supplies and a sufficient amount of money for your daily expenses. Keeping original passports during outdoor activities is not recommended due to their possible loss. We advise you to make and carry only their copies. Hotels provide safes for storing your personal items.


What will the weather be like?

Plein air workshops are planned during good weather periods, when it’s not too hot or too cold. However, you can always check the weather information underneath the menu bar.


What kind of clothes should I bring?

You should take thin clothes for warmer days, a pair of thick sweaters for evenings and a few lightweight and waterproof jackets in case of wind or rain. Remember that evenings in Russia can be cold. You can also bring your swimsuits with you.


Can my friend or partner come along?

Your friends and partners are very welcome. We will suggest leisure activities for them to do while you’re painting and they can join you in all excursions. They have also a discount according to every course.


Can I come on my own?

The great advantage of our plein air courses is that they’re suitable for couples, groups of friends or single people. There is always a very friendly atmosphere between course members as you share common interests, so you should feel yourself at ease since the first moment. You will make many friends by the end of the week and will treasure these memories.


Will I have to pay for a single room?

Nice en-suite rooms are in all hotels, but prices are based on a double occupancy, therefore we charge only the amount that a hotel charges for single occupancy.


When is a better time to book my flight?

The plein air courses have been priced on the basis of a minimum number of students. If artists haven’t confirmed their booking less than 8 weeks before the course start, ArtSeasons reserves the right to cancel the workshop giving a full refund of the money paid or offering a place on another course equal in price. Please contact ArtSeasons before you book your flights to make sure your course is going ahead.


Can I arrive at my location before and/or after the holiday?

Your plein air holiday begins when you are met at the airport, but you can stay longer or arrive earlier if you wish. We’ll be pleased to organize your extra nights or transfers at no extra cost, but these are not included in your course price. Just let us know about your travel plans in advance.


Can I come in my own car?

Some artists use their cars or vans to arrive to the course venue. We’ll send you some travel instructions on request.


I cannot walk long distances. Is that a problem?

Our artists organize plein air paintings not far from the hotel, wherein our walks take place in picturesque places the contemplation of which you will enjoy. If you have some mobility problems, please, contact us and we’ll advise you whether that particular course is suitable for you or not.


Will I be met at the airport?

Pick up time from Moscow airports is at 2 PM. You spend your first night at the Moscow hotel and the next morning at 8 AM you head to the plein air venue. On the last day you will leave at 8 AM in order to be in Moscow in 12 AM. Therefrom you can be transferred to airports or stay in Moscow and continue your journey with the help of our PumpTur partner. Please book your flights accordingly.



I’m a beginner, can I still join?

Some tutors welcome beginners and are happy to help you through your drawing or painting, even if you have never painted before. These courses are mixed-ability classes and tutors are very experienced and able to cater for individual requirements.


What art materials should I bring with me?

Prior to your course we will send you a list of art materials, recommended by your tutor.


Should I bring easels or chairs?

No, ArtSeasons provides lightweight easels for rent at €5 a day and chairs and boards free of charge, so you can travel light and pay no extra charges at the airport. You only need to book them.

What is the group size?

Our tutors would set the ideal size for their groups, but normally they’re between 10-15 people. If that’s one of your concerns please contact us about each tutor.
